Donating for Relay for Life

I enjoy creating for a good cause! Tonight, my son's preschool held a silent auction to raise money for Relay for Life. I shaped and hammered the sterling silver frames for these earrings, and then added an apatite drop. Apatite is a beautiful translucent turquoise stone, but unfortunately I didn't get a picture showing how they look held up to the light. I thank the new owner for donating!!

Copper and Brown Pearl earrings

Hand-formed and hammered copper frames hold brown freshwater coin pearls at the base. The marquis-shaped frame displays a smaller, matching round pearl (with a slightly flattened backside).

Each frame and each pearl drop were shaped and hammered by hand. The flattened portion of each drop's wire was rolled up under the pearl for a detailed effect.

Measures about 2 5/8 inches from top of ear hook to bottom of pearl drop. The inside of the marquis is about 1 1/4 inch. $18

Crystal Quartz and Grey Pearl necklace

Crystal quartz, iridescent grey button pearls and large sterling silver links make this necklace a statement piece.

Sparkles in the sun...plenty of texture...bold but not too loud.

The subtle shimmer when not in direct sunlight gives this a luminous quality.

18" at the longest (adjustable). All metal components are sterling silver. $50

Red Coral necklaces with Bamboo pendants

I've been looking forward to creating these two necklaces for some time now.  When I found the mother of pearl pendant, I immediately thought it would look really cool with the chunky red coral, mimicking the jointed bamboo design.  I added some sterling silver beads and a 1.5" extender chain.  Including the extender, the necklace measures 17.5". $40

For the second necklace, I created the fine silver pendant using Art Clay Silver and impressing a bamboo pattern into it.  I once again thought of the jointed coral looking like bamboo.  Using dyed coral and some randomly placed sterling silver beads, I created a more petite version.  This one measures 17.25" and has a sterling squeeze clasp (no fingernails required). $40
